§ 53. Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs if he will estimate the increased unemployment which has so far been caused to Rhodesian Africans by Her Majesty's Government's policy of sanctions.
§ Mr. BowdenNo detailed employment statistics have been published in Salisbury since last February, nor have the régime mentioned any figure which we could accept as accurately representing the extent of African unemployment. The increase is entirely the responsibility of the régime which can remedy the situation by making a return to constitutional rule.
