HC Deb 19 October 1966 vol 734 cc61-2W
Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Minister of Labour what estimate he has made of the number of persons in Scotland working only part of their normal working week.

Mrs. Shirley Williams

At establishments with 11 or more employees in manufacturing industries (excluding shipbuilding and ship repairing), it is estimated that during the week ended 17th September, 1966, about 7,500 operatives in Scotland worked only part of their normal working week.

Information on short-time working is not available (1) for manufacturing establishments with fewer than 11 employees, or (2) for any industry outside manufacturing.
