HC Deb 21 November 1966 vol 736 c238W
Sir N. Cooper-Key

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he is aware that students studying architecture are faced with special expenditure on books and equipment; and when he will extend their allowances to those now granted to medical-dental students.

Mr. Redhead

The standard grant for maintenance to students includes an element of £35 per annum for books, instruments, stationery and materials. In the light of advice received from the Standing Advisory Committee on Grants to Students, after their 1965 review, we are not proposing to make any special additional provision for students of architecture.
