§ Mr. Templeasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, simultaneously with the publication of the Rate Support Grant Order, he will publish a table showing the effects of the new grants on all the receiving authorities comparing the anticipated grants for 1967–68 with the position as it would have been under the existing grant procedure; and if he will publish a summary of these statistics as they affect various types of local authorities.
§ Mr. MacCollMy right hon. Friend hopes to publish a table showing a distribution to all receiving authorities of the needs element of the new grant based on the latest information available at the time. As with the corresponding general grant figures on past occasions, these figures will be subject to revision in the light of later data before the grants payable to individual authorities are finally determined.
A full comparison between the old and new grant systems such as the hon. Member seeks would require information about the expenditure of individual authorities on their various services and this will not be available until after the end of 1967–68.
