HC Deb 09 November 1966 vol 735 cc295-6W
Mr. Hall-Davis

asked the Minister of Transport if she will give a general direction to the Railways Board that on the sale of British Railways' houses proper account is taken of the desire of employees to purchase their own homes.

Mr. John Morris

No. It is already the practice of the British Railways Board to give the first offer of single houses to the sitting tenants. When blocks of houses are for sale, the Board have given an undertaking to offer them to local authorities.
