§ Mr. Brooksasked the Minister of Transport when she will make a statement on the request by the Merseyside 295W Steering Committee that preliminary authorisation be granted to British Railways to prepare a Bill for the inner rail loop in advance of the report of the Merseyside Land Use and Transportation Study.
§ Mr. SwinglerMy right hon. Friend is informing the Committee that its request for the Railways Board to include provisions for the loop in the legislation the Board expects to promote next Session should be addressed to the Board itself.
The promotion of any Bill by the Board is subject to my right hon. Friend's consent under S.17 of the Transport Act, 1962 in the normal way.
