§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the President of the Board of Trade what factors have caused him to increase the number of civil servants in his Department.
§ Mr. JayThe main factors are the transfer in February 1965 of certain functions relating to shipping and allied work from the Ministry of Transport and in July 1966 of civil aviation business from the Ministry of Aviation. Other increases have been due mainly to increased activity in the fields of export promotion, distribution of industry, investment grants and patent office work.
