HC Deb 04 November 1966 vol 735 cc185-6W
Mr. Hordern

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will list the changes in the rate of duty charged on the import of rayon and other man-made fibres since October, 1964.

Mr. Darling

The most-favoured-nation rate has not been changed since October, 1964. In accordance with our obligations under the Stockholm Convention and the Free Trade Area Agreement with the Irish Republic, the rate of duty on imports from E.F.T.A. countries has twice been reduced and will be eliminated on 1st January, 1967, and that on imports from the Irish Republic has already been eliminated.
