§ 34. Sir E. Boyleasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether the estimates of educational expenditure contained in the National Plan remain a firm commitment, despite the 138W lower rate of economic growth now anticipated by the Government.
§ Mr. CroslandIt was made clear in the National Plan that the programmes of public expenditure to 1969–70 must be subject to continuous modification in the light of the development of the economy. It is too early to say whether or how the programme for education might be affected by recent changes in the economic prospects.
