§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsOn 14th March 1966, there were 53 joiners registered as unemployed in Sunderland. In the three years ending December 1965, 1,428 joiners were trained in Government training Centres in Great Britain. On 9th May 1966, 653 men were in training as joiners in Government Training Centres. There is close co-operation in all regions between the Ministry and the Amalgamated Society of Woodworkers on the employment prospects of joiners being trained in the centres.
