§ Mr. William Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what study he has made of the memorandum by the Council of the Law Society on the use of the dock in criminal courts, a copy of which has been sent to him; and whether he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to ensure that the dock should be replaced by a seat for the accused immediately behind the accused's advocate.
§ Mr. TaverneMy right hon. Friend has studied with interest the Law Society's important proposal that the dock should be abolished and is seeking the views of others concerned in the administration of criminal justice.
