§ Mr. Ron Lewisasked the Minister of Health (1) what steps he is taking to encourage members of the medical profession to stay and practise in this country;
(2) what was the total number of the medical profession who gave up practice and went abroad during the year 1965.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonI have no exact information on the number of doctors who emigrated in 1965; I have every hope that the opportunities for improved general practice provided by the new contract offered to general practitioners and the increased remuneration offered to the profession will encourage doctors to remain in this country.
