HC Deb 04 May 1966 vol 727 c135W
Sir Knox Cunningham

asked the Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to improve the postal services in the Greenisland area of County Antrim and to abate the delays referred to in the cornmunication set to him by the hon. Member for Antrim, South.

Mr. Bean

There has been considerable residential development in the Greenisland area and the postal services were remodelled last October. As a result the times for completion of the first and second deliveries were brought forward. The delays referred to in the how and learned Member's communication have been caused by heavy sick absences among the regular staff in recent months, and difficulties in obtaining temporary staff to fill the gaps.
