asked the Minister of Transport (1) if she will now publish the surveyors' report on the structure of Bideford Bridge;

(2) what consultations she has had with the trustees of Bideford Bridge; and what plans she has for safeguarding the free flow of all traffic over this bridge.

As the hon. Member knows, the Bideford Bridge Trustees have, at my right hon. Friend's request, been considering the feasibility of widening the carriageway on the bridge. As further information on the consulting engineers' report is being sought there would be no advantage in making a statement now. My right hon. Friend is considering an objection to a proposed Order to restrict waiting on certain approach roads.
