asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has for protecting prison warders in the course of their duties.

Mr. Willis

A new classification scheme for prisoners at present being drawn up should reduce the likelihood of assaults on prison officers. The scheme includes arrangements for a unit at Inverness Prison to which prisoners of a violent and recalcitrant nature can be removed for particularly close supervision.
