§ Mr. Hugh Jenkinsasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if she will carry out a survey of the living conditions of the poorest households in this country and publish a report.
§ Miss HerbisonIt is not practicable to attempt a survey of the poorest households, as such, because of the difficulty of identifying them. But, of course, the National Assistance Board have a great deal of information about the financial circumstances and the living conditions of families receiving national assistance. My hon. Friend will also be aware that I hope to be able to publish before long the full results of the enquiry undertaken last year into the circumstances of retirement pensioners generally.
