HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 cc545-6W
Sir A. V. Harvey

asked the Minister of Aviation what ruling is to be given to aircraft captains flying over the North Atlantic regarding separation in flight; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Stonehouse

Above Flight Level 290 (29,000 ft.) a minimum lateral separa tion of 90 nautical miles is provided in accordance with the decision of the International Civil Aviation Organisation; below that level a minimum separation of 120 nautical miles is provided for jet aircraft asking for this increased separation.

I have nothing further to add to the statement I made in answer to the hon. Member for Woking (Mr. Onslow) on the 16th February, 1966.
