HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c520W
Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland in what places he proposes to establish health centres.

Mr. Ross

I have undertaken to provide health centres in Glasgow and in the new towns of Livingston and Cumbernauld. Proposals for health centres in other areas are now being considered with the interests concerned. My Review of the Hospital Plan provides that whenever practicable a health centre will be incorporated into every scheme for new hospitals or extensions to existing hospitals. The National Plan provides for expenditure of over £1 million on health centres in Scotland in the four-year period to 1969–70.
