HC Deb 09 March 1966 vol 725 c520W
Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the average cost to the taxpayer for each acre of land planted with trees by the State and private sectors of the forestry industry, respectively, in each of the last five years for which figures are available.

Mr. Ross

A comparison of the cost to the Exchequer of public and private forestry, respectively, cannot be made on the basis suggested by the noble Lord.
