I would refer the hon. Member to the Answer my right hon. Friend gave to the hon. Member for Harborough (Mr. Farr) on 25th November, 1965. The wages and salaries paid by local authorities fall within the scope of472W prices and incomes policy, and may be referred to the Board if the Government think that it is in the national interest to do so.
