asked the Secretary of State for education and Science whether he will give an assurance that no amendement to the Education Act 1944 is contemplated which would affect the status of the controlled grammar schools within the area of the Inner London Education Authority.

Mr. Crosland

I have no present proposals for legislation which would affect the status of controlled schools.
