HC Deb 27 July 1966 vol 732 c263W
69. Mr. James Davidson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what public money was allocated to the Scottish Country Industries Development Trust for 1964, 1965 and 1966; in which areas and for what purposes it was or will be expended; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Willis

The Trust receives grants from the Development Fund. For the financial years 1963–64, 1964–65 and 1965–66, the grants approved were £60,000, £67,273 and £73,100 respectively. For the current year the grant approved is £74,683.

The purpose of the Trust is to provide a service to small firms in country areas of Scotland by advising them on management, accountancy, marketing and other aspects of running a business and to stimulate the development of small industries in country towns and areas.
