§ Sir T. Beamishasked the Minister of Health what would be the estimated annual saving in the total cost of the hospital services if a charge of 3s. a day were made for the occupation of each hospital bed under the National Health Service.
§ Mr. K. RobinsonThe amount of revenue from such a charge would depend on the number of patients who would need to be relieved of it. There are about 400,000 occupied beds but a high proportion of them are occupied by the aged, the chronic sick and the mentally disordered.
