HC Deb 20 July 1966 vol 732 c103W
Sir Ian Orr-Ewing

asked the Minister of Transport whether she is aware of the frequent congestion in Park Road, Wellington Road, Finchley Road, and West End Lane on the route out of London to Ml, Al, and A41 ; and what proposals she has to make these routes clearways similar to Cromwell Road on the route out of London to M4.

Mr. Swingler

The Greater London Council is responsible for the management of London's traffic. It is therefore for it to formulate and implement measures to ease congestion on the main routes between Central London and the Ml, and trunk roads Al and A41. We understand, however, that the Park Road, Wellington Road and Finchley Road radial route is one of several included in the council's urban clearway programme.
