§ 3. Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will now make it possible for local authorities to pay salaries to chairmen of councils and committees.
§ Mr. CrossmanThis is a matter which the Maud Committee on the Management of Local Government are considering. In their interim report on the allowances of elected members, the Committee reserve their position on the subject. I propose to await their final report before expressing any opinion.
