90. Mr. Alan Lee Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on Hornchurch Airfield ; and if the Government proposes to sell back certain parts of the airfield to the original owners.

About 95 acres of the airfield were sold by public auction in February, 1963. The former owners of the remaining 255 acres expressed a wish to repurchase their former holdings and negotiations to this end are being conducted by the District Valuer.
