Mr. Galbraith

asked the Postmaster-General what was the capital expenditure by the General Post Office on the telephone system in each year from 1946.

Figures of total capital expenditure, at present day definitions, on telecommunications are given below. They include expenditure on the telegraph services, but by far the greater part was for the telephone service.
