§ 60. Mr. Gardnerasked the President of the Board of Trade how many prosecutions under the Merchandise Marks Acts were initiated in the years 1963, 1964 and 1965; how many of these were initiated by Her Majesty's Government; and what were the results.
Mr. DarlngThere were 525 and 654 prosecutions in England and Wales in 1963 and 1964, of which 483 and 595 respectively resulted in convictions. Total figures are not available for 1965. In the three years the Board of Trade prosecuted in 26 cases, of which 22 resulted in conviction.
