HL Deb 14 July 1966 vol 276 c286WA
LORD METHUEN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will consider improving the general appearance of the newly laid out beds at the roundabout at Hyde Park Corner by the replacement of the dreary evergreen shrubs, which have been planted in these beds, by spring-flowering bulbs such as tulips, and by later-flowering annuals, in order to give life and beauty to this unique site.

LORD HILTON OF UPTON

My Lords, I am advised that these beds are the responsibility of the Westminster City Council, who are considering the planting of flowers in order to improve the appearance of the island.

House adjourned at a quarter past seven o'clock
