Mr. Alan Williams
asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations he has received about the establishment of a second medical college in Wales; and whether there have been any representations against such a college being established in Swansea.
§ Mr. Crosland
My attention has been drawn by my hon. Friend and others to112W the desirability of establishing a new medical school in Wales, and a group of hon. Members representing constituencies in the Swansea area urged me last March to consider the possibility of setting up such a school at Swansea. I have not received any representations against such a proposal, which would be for the University Grants Committee to consider in the first instance.
