Mr. Duffy

asked the Minister of Labour what were the average weekly earnings, the average hours worked and the average hourly earnings in manufacturing industries in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire at April 1965; and how these figures compare with those for the United Kingdom.

Mr. Thornton

For Yorkshire and Humberside (which replaced the former Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region on 1st April, 1965) the figures for adult men were £18 5s. 8d., 47.6 and 92.2d. respectively, compared with £19 8s. 10d., 46.7 and 99.9d. for the United Kingdom.
