HC Deb 21 February 1966 vol 725 cc10-1W
Mr. Goodhart

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many British citizens are known to be imprisoned in Communist Chinese prisons.

Mr. George Thomson

None.

Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what proposals have been made by the United States Government to Her Majesty's Government to contain the Chinese People's Republic; and whether Her Majesty's Government have made commitments which would involve Great Britain.

Mr. M. Stewart

The United States Government have made no proposals to Her Majesty's Government in the sense suggested by my right hon. Friend. The question of commitments does not therefore arise.
