§ 68. Mr. Wainwrightasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the total amount of tax that would be obtained, in each group, in a full financial year, if a tax on personal wealth were introduced in the following categories, namely, ½ per cent. on all personal wealth from £20,000 to £50,000, 1 per cent. from £50,000 to £100,000, 2 per cent. from £100,000 to £200,000, 3 per cent. from £200,000 to £300,000, 4 per cent. from £300,000 to £400,000, and 5 per cent. on over £400,000 respectively.
