§ Mr. Hastingsasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will estimate the consumption by beef-cattle in 1965 of wheat, barley, oats and maize, respectively.
§ Mr. John MackieI regret that no firm information is at present available. the best estimate I can make is that in 1965–66 cattle, other than dairy cows, consumed about 2½, million tons of concentrate feeds, of which some 650 thousand tons was fed as compounds and the remainder as straight feeds. It is not possible to divide these quantities between the different types of grain.
