§ Sir M. Galpernasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if, in view of the New Zealand High Commission's current advertising campaign in Scotland for graduates, without experience, to undergo a course of teacher-training in New Zealand on full teaching salary, he will reconsider his refusal to make similar financial inducements to graduates in order to attract more graduates into the teaching profession in Scotland.
§ Mr. RossNo. I am anxious to encourage recruitment of graduates to the teaching profession but I do not think the particular inducement suggested would be justified at present.
