§ Mr. Barnettasked the Minister of Transport what action she has taken arising out of the recommendations of the North-West Economic Planning Council.
§ Mr. SwinglerThe North-West Economic Planning Council has given my right hon. Friend advice, much of it in confidence, on a variety of transport matters, and she has taken account of this in developing and implementing her transport policy. For example, most of the recommendations on road communications are reflected in the current programme or will be in subsequent programmes as soon as the opportunity offers. But my hon. Friend will appreciate that we must hold a fair balance between the needs of all parts of the country.
