§ 69. Sir Knox Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has considerd the various documents relating to the Free Taiwan movement and United Kingdom policy on the status of Taiwan which have been supplied by the hon. Member for Antrim, South; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PadleyYes. Our position on the status of Formosa was outlined on 28th November by my noble Friend Lord Caradon in his explanation of our vote in the General Assembly of the United Nations on the question of Chinese representation in that organisation. A copy186W of his statement is in the Library. It remains our view that sovereignty over the island of Formosa is undetermined.
