§ LORD MERRIVALEasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether they have any observations to make regarding the proposed new 1224WA link road between Elmleigh Road and Emsworth Road at Havant, Hampshire; and whether they would be prepared to consider (or recommend to the South-East Hampshire Area Planning Committee) a slightly modified route which would leave intact the Havant-Hayling Island railway line.
§ LORD CHAMPIONThe proposed link road is an unclassified road and as such it is a matter for the Hampshire County Council as planning authority and the Havant and Waterloo Urban District Council as highway authority. It is understood that a planning application is now being considered by the County Council. In these circumstances it would be inappropriate for Her Majesty's Government to comment.
