§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Labour why, in view of the fact that the Government have prevented busmen, policemen, probation officers, seamen, firemen and many other sections of workers from receiving increases in their wages and salaries which were negotiated and agreed before the announcement of the Government's wage standstill, he will not agree to take similar action in the case of the increases to 462W the General Secretaries of the National Union of Railwaymen and the Transport and General Workers' Union; and whether he will make a statement.
