Mr. Winterbottom

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has yet received the Monopolies Commission's Report on the proposed mergers of the Dental Manufacturing Company or the Dentists' Supply Co., New York, and the Amalgamated Dental Co. Ltd.; and if he will make a statement.

Yes. I received the Commission's Report on 18th July. The Commission concluded that neither of the proposed mergers would operate or might be expected to operate against the public interest.

I accept these conclusions and have made an Order revoking the Restriction of Merger (No. 1) Order 1966 and the Restriction of Merger (No. 2) Order 1966. The Commission's Report is being published today.
