HC Deb 03 August 1966 vol 733 cc132-3W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Postmaster-General why he recognises and accepts postage stamps, telephone, and telephone services on a reciprocal basis with the German Democratic Republic; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Edward Short

Provided that mutually acceptable operating arrangements can be agreed with the postal and telecommunications administrations concerned it is my policy to try to make overseas postal and telecommunications services available to the widest possible extent. The services exchanged with East Germany are provided in fulfilment of this policy.
