§ 66. Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will give an assurance that he will not conclude any negotiations with the Government of Guatemala about the future of British Honduras while Parliament is in recess and without giving the House an opportunity to debate the matter.
§ Mr. M. StewartHer Majesty's Government are not engaged in a negotiation with the Guatemalan Government but are parties to a mediation conducted by the United States Government. I cannot predict the course of the mediation. The text of any agreement concluded as a result of the mediation would be published without delay and laid before the House in the usual manner.
