§ Mr. Hobdenasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress is being made in dealing with the question of sewage in the Brighton area.
§ Mr. MacCollAs I said in reply to a Question by my hon. Friend on 28th May, representatives of the Brighton Intercepting and Outfall Sewers Board are visiting towns where sewage is treated before being discharged to sea, with a view to deciding what method of treatment would be appropriate to their Portobello outfall.
My right hon. Friend has himself met members of Brighton Corporation (the chief constituent of the Board) and urged them to speed up the investigations so that an early decision can be taken.
