SoskiceThe measures which I announced on 4th February were designed to prevent evasion of the immigration control, and it will be some months before the statistical and other information available will enable me to form a reasonably accurate estimate as to how effective the measures have been in achieving that purpose. I also await the return of the Mountbatten Mission before further decisions can be taken.
