§ LORD SHEPHERDThe unpaid balance of the United Kingdom's 1914–18 War Debt to the United States of America is $4,368 millions. On the 1st July, 1931, repayments were suspended for one year under the moratorium proposed by President Hoover. From 1st July, 1932, the repayments were suspended in accordance with the arrangements made at the Lausanne Conference and have not since been resumed.
At the end of 1964 the unpaid balance of the United Kingdom's World War II and Post-War debt to the United States of America was $4,222 millions. Details are given in the following table.
