§ 96. Mr. Tinnasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will state for the years ended 31st March, 1964, and 31st December, 1964, respectively, in respect of development districts in the North-East, the number of applications for grants for the clearance of derelict land, the number approved, 48W giving cost and acreage, the number rejected and the number under consideration.
§ Mr. MacCollIn the year ending 31st March, 1964, 75 applications were made by local authorities under the provisions of the Local Employment Act, 1960. 40 applications covering 725 acres were approved at an estimated cost of £741,000, 19 were rejected and at the end of the year 32 were under consideration. Figures for the year ending 31st December, 1964, show that 37 applications were made: 29 applications covering 280 acres were approved at an estimated cost of £430,000, 22 were rejected and 8 were under consideration at the end of the year.
