asked the Postmaster-General what action he is taking to improve the postal services and particularly to prevent the considerable delays which are occurring in deliveries.

I much regret that shortage of staff has made it impossible for us to maintain the normal standard of postal services in some places. We are doing all we can to recruit more staff and, meanwhile, to keep delays in delivery to a minimum.
