§ 34. Mr. Shepherdasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the net annual cost in foreign exchange of defence expenditure overseas for the last available period.
§ Mr. CallaghanAs I said in my Answer on 17th February to my hon. Friend, the Member for Woolwich, West (Mr. Hamling), in the 12 months up to 30th September, 1964, overseas military expenditure was about £300 million including defence aid but excluding military imports. In the same period, military receipts on Government account, excluding military exports, amounted to £36 million.
