HC Deb 04 March 1965 vol 707 c305W
107. Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Secretary of State for Defence to what extent the Admiralty inquiry on the Wolverhampton pilot from the Royal Naval Air Station, Brawdy, who crashed at St. Bride's Bay on 23rd February, showed that there was interference with an S.O.S. call from St. Govan's lightship by a pirate radio station which jammed the line; and what action he intends to take in the future.

Mr. Mayhew

The naval board of inquiry into this tragic accident has not yet reported. However, I understand there was no radio interference with the rescue operations directed from the Naval Air Station. Any action over a pirate radio station would be a matter for my right hon. Friend the Postmaster-General.
