asked the Minister of Labour how many vouchers were issued to intending immigrants from the Commonwealth between 28th December, 1963, and 29th December, 1964; in which categories these vouchers were issued; and how many vouchers in each category were issued to India, Pakistan and the West Indian Islands respectively.

Between 28th December, 1963, and 25th December, 1964 (the nearest available date) a total of 20,824 vouchers were issued, of which 10,602 were in category A, 8,001 in category B, and 2,221 in category C. The numbers issued to India were 1,473 in category A, 4,061 in category B and 550 in category C; to Pakistan 1,838 in category A, 1,747 in category B and 573 in category C; to the West Indian Islands (Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Leeward and Windward Islands) 3,185 in category A, 113 in category B, and 199 in category C.
